July 17th, 2008 (Odeas Gael - Week 1 Day 4)

-Kenton
It was a rough morning for the girls, they were a bit late for class. Thier roommate didn't even show up for the morning session. Nobody really seemed to care though, I think they saw it comming. Class was great as usual, I learned that a lepherchaun is a deaone beaga (deeny bugha). At lunch I headed out and deiced to tr battered sausages...not too bad. They would have been better with mustard.
After the 2nd seesion of class we went to the beach. The girls wen swimming, I climbed up on the dunes and took some great pictures. We went to the pub again later. Just one or two pints though and I left. I had a good time talking to one of the hillwalkers while I was there though. I think I'll definitely take atleast one day of hillwalking my last week here.

Sarah and I were about 10 minutes late for class. Not bad considering all the clean-up at the cottage. In class, we learned how to ask for the time; a very helpful skill for those without a watch in Ireland! Cen t-ame? I also asked Andrew how to ask "How do you say... in Irish" which is "Cad e an doigh a deireann tu?" since I figure this phrase will also be very helpful. After class, some of the locals convinced Sarah and me to go swimming in the ocean. I was a bit nervous to go because I am not the best swimmer. Sarah and I were told it is very good for the health, so in we went. I stayed in for about a few minutes before a gigantic wave crashed into me and rolled me into shore on my butt! I was covered in sand, but still intact. I decided not to venture in again on account of my contact lenses, which I feared I might lose in the ocean. The sand was a constant reminder of this adventure, as it took two showers to completely de-sand later. A very pleasant day.
